Peter Barrett
— Physio & Partner
Peter is a practice principal and has been working at West Lakes since 1989. He is also involved with a teaching role in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Physiotherapy programmes at the University of South Australia.
Clinical Interests: The management of spinal problems, orthopaedic and exercise rehabilitation and chronic pain management.
Personal Interests: Spending time with the family, watching sport and playing recreational tennis.
Shane Ryan
— Physio
Shane has been with us for over 20 years. He now combines his work here with a Clinical Educator role with 3rd-year Undergraduate Physiotherapy students at the University of South Australia. Shane was also one of the physiotherapists at Port Adelaide Magpies in the SANFL for over 10 years and for Metro Jets Premiere League and Reserves Netball teams for 5 years.
Clinical Interests: Treatment of sports injuries particularly rowing, football and hockey, manipulative therapy and dry needling.
Personal Interests:
Spending time with family, reading and playing golf.Hayley Openshaw

Clinical Interests:
Hayley works closely with athletes of all backgrounds, including runners and weekend warriors, but also offers general routine nail/skin care for those who suffer from chronic health conditions.
Personal Interests: Outside of work Hayley enjoys training nights at the track / gym with her new elite female sprint squad. Come summer time, she spends plenty of time at the beach as she is highly involved in the state surf life saving scene. -
Mark Nagel
— Physio & Partner
Mark first started working in the clinic in 2001 and became one of the partners of the business in 2004. Mark works part time for the Adelaide Crows Football Club and spends the rest of his time at the clinic. He has a special interest in sporting injuries particularly soft tissue injuries and football related injuries.
Clinical Interests: Hamstrings, knee pain and lower limb sporting injuries
Personal Interests: Spending time with the family, playing with the kids, travel and watching/playing sport.Crystal Waters

Crystal joined the Adelaide Crows Sports Medicine clinic in 2018 with a broad range of experience across musculoskeletal, sports and work injury rehabilitation. She comes from a dance background and has experience with rehab of dance injuries and pre-pointe assessment. She has provided physio for Metro Jets Netball and local Soccer teams and continues to enjoy supporting peoples’ return to sport after injury.
Clinical Interests: Crystal has a passion for Physio Group Exercise Sessions for both rehabilitation and fitness goals.
Personal Interests:
Crystal is an avid Crows supporter, enjoys going to the gym and loves watching any sport really!Adam Wiles
— Podiatrist
Adam Wiles has been practicing as a Podiatrist since 2004. He has a broad range of experience, working with all age groups to manage or resolve their foot or lower limb issues. This includes those with muscle or joint injuries, athletes, weekend runners or walkers, people with a health condition which needs ongoing care (like Diabetes) or those requiring general foot or nail care.
Adam has worked closely with footwear suppliers over his career, so has extensive knowledge in this area, and can provide advice and guidance on what footwear is appropriate for you.
Adam has also worked closely with Paediatric physiotherapists over the years, and regularly sees school aged children and adolescents for things like sporting injuries, foot screening, gait analysis and developmental delays.Clinical Interests: Adam is particularly interested in footwear, especially athletic footwear, and can provide tailored advice on what to look for when purchasing new shoes.
Personal Interests:
Outside of work, Adam has 2 children with his wife, and lives locally. He enjoys being active, and although he now no longer plays AFL, he still enjoys running, cycling and cricket. -
Sandy Woolman

Sandy is a practice principal and has been working at the Adelaide Crows Sports Medicine Clinic since 2000. She also worked at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital for many years developing a special interest in growth related injuries. She has worked with the State U17, U19 and U21 Netball teams during National Championships and as the Physio for Metro Jets Premiere League and Reserves Netball Teams for 5 years.
Clinical Interests: Running injuries, Paediatric and adolescent injuries, spinal pain, Group exercise and Netball injuries.
Personal Interests: Running, camping, watching Port Power (especially when they beat the Crows!) and spending time with the family.Tim Cook
— Physiotherapist
Tim is currently a physiotherapist for the Adelaide Football Club in the AFL. However he retains a passion for the assessment and treatment of patients in community private practice and is thrilled to have the opportunity to join the team at the Adelaide Crows Sports Medicine Clinic.
Whilst having a focus on elite sport, Tim has over 20+ years experience in private practice covering clinic treatment, exercise prescription, worksite and ergonomic assessments, pre-employment medical screening, hydrotherapy, rehabilitation, Real Time Ultrasound muscle re-training and teaching Physio Group Exercise Sessions.
Clinical Interests: Tim has a special interest in spinal, groin, knee and tendon injuries however is keen to listen to, assess and treat anyone with any injury!!
Personal Interests:
He enjoys watching his two sons play sport, has the occasional hit of golf and sneaks the odd spot of fishing off Wallaroo.
